The Wurlitzer Century organs, models 4200 and 4250, were first manufactured in the late 1950s. It appears from the service manual that the two models are identical, except that the 4250 includes chord buttons. (It is also possible that both models contain chord buttons.) The chord button assembly (which is designated model 7026) is mounted on the left side of the keyboard.

Both models of organ have vacuum tube tone generators, percussion, and a bank of preset voices, including flute. They have two manuals: a 40-note upper manual and a 27-note lower manual (the “accompaniment keyboard”).

A series of switches are mounted at the right of the lower manual: a three-position Balance switch for the lower manual (Soft, Medium, Full), a similar Balance switch for the bass pedals, and a three-position vibrato switch (two speeds plus Off). There is also a small bank of preset voices for the lower manual, and a larger bank at the top left for the upper manual.

• Upper manual presets: Muted Horn, French Horn, Soft String, Viola, Oboe, Concert Flute, Piccolo, Tone Color

• Lower manual presets: Melodia, Cello, Lyric Flute, Echo String

These are smaller console organs, weighing approximately 138 lbs. Dimensions are 36 1/2” wide, 23” deep, 34 3/8” high.
