Contribute materials to the archive
The Tropical Fish Document Archive accepts documents related to vintage electronic instruments manufactured around 1930-1990. Our mission is to preserve technical information about electronic instruments, and make it available to those who would like to research or repair a vintage instrument. We focus on musical instruments and technology that is often considered “obsolete”.

If you have information that you’d like to contribute, such as product specifications that are missing from the website or photos of your personal instrument, tell us here.
What type of archival material do we accept?
In general, we accept archival material related to the following subjects:
Wurlitzer organs, electronic pianos, and other electronic instruments
Wurlitzer acoustic pianos, coin-operated instruments, or other Wurlitzer product lines not related to electronic instruments
Electronic organs by any manufacturer who produced analog instruments
Other electronic instruments by manufacturers other than Wurlitzer, including tube amplifiers, synthesizers, combo organs, non-Wurlitzer electronic pianos, electric guitars, etc.
Documents about the Wurlitzer Co. in general, including corporate records, company newsletters, and records related to vendors or dealers
Documents related to musical instrument dealers and salespersons, whether or not they carried Wurlitzer product lines
Documents related to American manufacturers of electronic components, fasteners, speaker cloth, screenprinting or hot stamping technology, or any other products that would be required for manufacturing electronic musical instruments
If you have other archival materials, please reach out. While we cannot accept collections unrelated to our areas of focus, we may be able to help find a permanent home at a different repository.
Priority will be given to archival material in danger of dispersal or destruction.
