PCB spacers
VIEW SIMILAR: INSULATED MOUNTING STRIPS | SOLDER LUGS | RESISTORSPCB spacers are used to mount printed circuit boards. Generally, a PCB should be mounted some distance from the chassis, to maintain airflow and prevent unintended shorts between components or between a component and ground. It often helps if the spacer itself is nonconductive plastic, to eliminate the possibility that a component might short to the spacer.
Some spacers are tube-shaped, so a screw can be inserted to fasten the board down. Other spacers snap into place, which reduces assembly time. The predominant style of PCB spacer has changed over time, reflecting changes in circuit topology and efficiency of assembly.
