Tone cabinets for organs

Organ tone cabinets were built to compliment the sound and tonal requirements of Wurlitzer organs. These cabinets contained an amplifier and a rotating speaker element which made a chorus or tremolo effect.

Tone cabinets for electronic pianos

The electronic piano tone cabinets were built to complement a specific concurrent model of electronic piano. Like organ tone cabinets, these units contained an amplifier and a speaker. They also featured electronically induced tremolo effects.

Spectra-Tone

Because the Leslie rotating speaker system was under patent, Wurlitzer had to develop their own rotating speaker for their tone cabinets. The result was the Spectra-Tone.
