From a design perspective, the switches and knobs are some of the best parts of the organ. Often, vintage controls are made from plastics that are uncommon or obsolete today, so their scale and texture is much different from new-production controls. Organs have dozens of controls, and many are designed to be adjusted during playing. The tactile experience of turning knobs and flipping switches is part of the user experience, and the vintage design sensibility is a subtle part of what makes playing an older instrument so special.
